Postmenopausal women are at higher risk of developing certain medical conditions after menopause. Low levels of hormones not only end your periods but can also have an additional impact on a woman’s body.

Around 50% of the women after menopause suffer from urinary incontinence, a common problem where your urine involuntary leaks. Urinary incontinence is the result of age and low oestrogen levels that weaken your urethra, and you suffer from urine leakages.

Reduce the problem by doing kegel, pelvic floor and other exercises. Also, try to empty your bladder. See your doctor, if the problem is severe.  

  • Weight Gain

With age, your metabolism slows down and you may put on excess weight. Be more physically active to improve your metabolism and maintain your weight. Regular exercises build your muscles and improve your overall health.  

  • Diabetes

  • Stop smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol. This reduces menopause symptoms and other health risks after menopause. 
  • Get into a fitness regime to be physically and emotionally healthy.
  • Eat nutritious food to avoid health problems.
  • Seek help from your family and friends to reduce emotional affect.  
  • Include calcium-rich diet to get enough calcium. This strengthens your bones and prevents osteoporosis risk.  
  • Drink fluids and sufficient water to reduce UTIs.
  • Go for medical check-ups regularly. Keep your doctor’s appointment.
